Goal Setting With the Moon Series

Following the carousel that I posted on Instagram last month, I decided to go into more detail about how one could go about setting goals across a moon cycle. We’ll be using the lunar cycle that begins with new moon in Pisces as our example for this series, but these steps could be applied to any of the lunar cycles.

There are 8 phases in each moon cycle. Each phase lasts approximately two and a half days. The entire moon cycle is 28 days.

The Moon does not produce illumination. The moon is a mirror, reflecting the sun’s light. In this phase we can barely see the moon’s outline because the earth is in front of the moon, blocking the sun’s light.

The New Moon

Day 1 or Day 29

The New Moon (Day 1 or Day 29)

Start with the new moon. Imagine your intentions (seeds) are germinating underneath the soil. Make new moon wishes, start new projects.

Ideal goals to begin when the new moon is in Pisces tend to relate to esoteric subjects but you can choose any subject or goal that you’re called to. If your goal is to write a book, start your outline when the moon is new.

If I were to start a project when the moon was in Pisces, I would probably involve esoteric elements. Perhaps I would do some meditation and incense, or a bubble bath or cleansing bath before sitting down to brainstorm. Pisces energy is very prone to creative downloads so you may be called to just dump your thoughts on a page. Let it out, you can refine and organize later.

The new moon is geared to brainstorming and getting those ideas out now. Spend the next two days being open to new information about your goal. The Picsean energy needs time to let the vibrations soak in. Remember your new moon wishes and be sure you make some related to your goal. Spend time visualizing and feeling into what you want to experience. Visualize yourself doing the things you will have to do to achieve your goal.

If you are wanting to add some structure to organize your thoughts see if there are journaling prompts or workbooks that could help. Educate yourself about how to set SMART goals if you aren’t familiar. Try using an amethyst crystal to amplify the creative Picsean energy.

Key Questions to Ask Yourself:

- What experiences should I be aware of to create more of what I want?

- What new habits could I adopt that would increase my capabilities to achieve my goal?

- Is there something I need to complete that would make achieving this goal easier?

Be sure to come back to the blog on March 15th, where I’ll share guidance on the next moon phase- Waxing Crescent.

There are a lot of messages coming in but not all of them will be actionable. Some of them would feel infinitely satisfying to act upon. We are being warned that the temptation to go after short-term satisfaction will be high. Play the long game and remember what the ultimate goal is.

A core belief around caretaking presents itself for balancing. When you are honest about wanting the best outcomes for all, there is no room for false hopes, false promises, or loose boundaries. Think before you say, “Yes”, in the next few days.

Claim: I give and receive toward the highest good of all.

Phase one of the energetic cycle is coming to a close. Survey what is left. You may need to start from the very beginning just when you thought you had it all figured out.

Something crucial is missing and you have to be sure to include it in this do over. Stay strong.

Claim: I am safe to love others and I am safe to receive the love others have for me.

Finding the Balance Between Logic and Fear- June 2020

June 2020’s messages were sparse because as I said in my last recap, I started the month at the edge of my seat with the rest of the world and ended up doing a lot of personal work. The second half of the month had me reorganizing my personal space and spiritual practice.

With four planets retrograde in June, I found myself creating and adjusting routines and creating more structure and intentionally in my life.

With all of this massive restructuring the collective was advised not to pick up more than we could carry. We were assured that the world would come forward to support us and were advised to find the balance between logic and fear. The statement that has helped me the most during this time has been, “I am the creation of me. I am in trust of all of my energy.”

It Can Be If We Make It That Way

A recap of May's messages for the collective to help you create yourself in the highest way. See https://www.thinkingthis.com/news for more details about eac...

I waited to post the May Recap because I was processing a lot of the events that we were confronted with collectively at the end of that month.

When May began, the collective was urged to visualize what we wanted and to take action when opportunities arose.   On May 23rd, we were called to cultivate our divine power and on May 25th George Floyd of Minnesota was killed by a police officer on video.  As we know, that sparked nearly two weeks of worldwide protests against police brutality and in support of black lives. One of the most significant results of those protests was the arrest of all four of the police officers involved in George Floyd’s death.

Meanwhile some states also made big policy changes (at least on paper, only time will tell) as a result of these protests. California, Minneapolis and Denver specifically banned police from using chokeholds. New York took it one step further with both legislative houses passing a bill that criminalizes the use of chokeholds by police.  Growing up in Jamaica, Queens with COPS on tv, I would’ve never imagined us ever getting that far. Breonna’s Law passed in Louisville, KY, making no-knock warrants illegal, and while this is a wonderful thing, her killers have yet to be charged.

This leads to the final message of May for the collective which referred to two kinds of willful blindness.   You have the choice to be willfully blind to what needs addressing or be willfully blind to those who tell you, “It can’t be done.”   I know that I’m choosing a world where everyone feels safe.  And I will be willfully blind to those who say it can’t or shouldn’t happen.  And I will LISTEN when someone tells me what they need to feel safe in the world. This is a fine line to walk in these times.

Remember that keeping your focus on what you’re trying to create does not mean being blind to the suffering of others.

When I was a little girl on my biggest complaints was, “It’s not fair!”

I would receive the same reply from so many around me, “LIFE isn’t fair.”

And my naïve little girl self would declare: “It can be if we make it that way!”

Join me in holding the focus on our world being rooted in fairness AND on TAKING ACTIONS that will make it that way.  Here are some links to inspire you.
